Janet's Legacy
A personal legacy transformed into an institutional mission.
The Institute is named for Janet Elizabeth Rieder-Henderson, whose professional life, curiosity, and personal example inspired its identity.
Janet frequently wore green and blue professional attire. Those colors now shape the Institute's visual identity: evergreen for growth, preservation, and the natural world; blue for knowledge, stability, and exploration.
Her name gives the Institute more than a title. It gives the work a human center and a reminder that knowledge becomes most meaningful when it is connected to memory, service, and the future.
